Our natural body butter is a whipped butter and is sold by weight not volume. If shipped during very warm weather, the butter may soften or melt. If your order was shipped during sunny warm/hot weather it is best to stick your jar in the refrigerator before opening it. If you open it and it's already melted it most likely spill and make a mess. Melting will not affect the quality of your butter but the consistency will change and become more balm like. Whipping adds tiny air bubbles (like a whipped cream) that make the butter light and fluffy. If it melts the air collapses and the volume of the butter decreases. Although we fill the jar to the top when we package it, if it melts and resets up there will be less volume in the jar. The jar will look 1/2 full instead of full. If your butter melted and you want it to be light and fluffy again let it setup in the fridge and then scoop it all out into a clean bowl and with a mixer mix on medium to high until it becomes fluffy like whipped cream.
