In the 1870’s Jefferson “Soapy” Smith earned his nickname by selling luxury handmadesoap on street corners with the chance of winning money wrapped in his bars of soap. The catch is Jefferson planted a buyer in the crowd who would open the bar of soap with Money wrapped inside. On lookers would soon follow suit by purchasing his bars. Seldom however would they contain money inside. Were they swindled? Yep! But at least they were left with a great smelling bar of soap that we imagine smelled just like the thrill of the Wild West itself.
